The real estate market from the viewpoint of entry into the European Union

The real estate market from the viewpoint of entry into the European Union

On the referendum held on January 22nd, 2012, the Croatian citizens have voted to join the European Union. For real estate business in Croatia, this comes at an important moment.

After the collapse of foreign investment in recent years, due to bureaucratic difficulties that were rejecting foreign investors and because of the crisis on the market, this confirmation of accession to the European Union together with the improvement of the situation on the real estate market in Croatia, should lead to an increased interest. Real estate prices in Croatia are currently slightly lower than at the time when they were the highest. In the opposite, the prices of the land, especially of those near the sea, are increasing. As a result of accession in 2013, we are expecting an increased interest for undeveloped areas.
